this section explains how to change the passwords of the users on the datasources of ibm websphereserver with the help of application configuration and trigger winrm service needs to be installed on the server where the websphere application is installed websphere server configuration needs to have been completed before the username and password in the security tab in data source also need to be saved to the kron pam vault to change the password for a websphere server data source, an application trigger config definition needs to be made first navigate to secrets > configurations > application configuration click + add and enter the parameters enter the name of the trigger in the name field select websphere as the strategy enter t he winrm service port select ntlm as the winrm authentication method click save navigate to secrets >application management click + add to add a new trigger enter the information asked by the fields on the add trigger modal enter the name of the trigger in the name field select the application configuration with the defined name above the definition value like websphere wsadmin bat is a script used to perform administrative tasks on the ibm websphere application server this tool is essential for automating and managing various administrative tasks from the command line in the wsadmin the username and password information to be used for connection to the wsadmin console must be entered in the relevant fields on the screen in the data source name field , enter the websphere server data source alias otherwise, the password value will not change because kron pam cannot find the relevant data source select the vault account that is defined in password vault and whose password we want to change if the user defined for password vault is authorized to make changes, the use authentication user switch box can remain inactive if it is not an authorized user, the name and password of the administrator user need to be entered in the relevant fields select the target type as single device select t he vault account defined in password vault and the device where ibm websphere is installed click save after the definition is completed, open the vault screen and select the vault account whenever the user selects the vault account and click the update or reset password option, kron pam will create a trigger and a password change will be performed, either automatically after some time or upon your manual request from the trigger process list shown on the application management page, as pictured below
