Device Group Configuration
Global Username/Password Connection
1min
Privileged users (such as root, super user, etc.) in the target device are called Global Users. To establish an SQL connection using these accounts, and to make the global userβs password invisible to the local user, the configuration below needs to be defined. A Global Username can be defined in the Device Group screen, for the device group that includes the target database.

When connecting to the database with a global username via SQL proxy, there is a preestablished priority to the rules applied, as follows:
- First priority: if there is a defined SAPM account, the SAPM password is used for the GlobalUser authentication. Please refer to the SAPM Account Creation process in section Adding Accounts in SAPM.
- Second priority: if the SAPM account is not defined, the global Password is used to connect to the device.
