3.7 Device Access Methods

There are two access methods;

The access methods also represent the authorization type. Authorizations are assigned on a user group basis. Users in some groups may have authorization for direct access while users don’t. For a user group the Direct Access authorization is NOT set as default.

Direct Access

Direct Access refers to a user connecting directly to a device without proxying through other devices. For devices which fully support AAA with TACACS+ protocol, Direct Access authorization should be enabled. Direct Access authorization is granted/restricted as follows;
