A backspace error means that some rare device types do not sense the backspace key in SC Proxy. 
Steps to Fix:

Take the following steps to troubleshoot:
Navigate to Device Management > Element Type.
On the related element type, click the Options menu > Show Properties.
Add the cli.keymap.del.to.bs element type property as true.
