HTTP Proxy Configuration

Web Browser Configuration

The first way to use the HTTP proxy is through a web browser. All web browsers support HTTP proxy functionality. However, we recommend Mozilla Firefox, as its proxy configurations can be made without affecting the computer’s proxy settings. Other web browsers use the operating systems proxy settings, and to use them, the operating systems proxy settings must be configured for HTTP proxy.

Mozilla Firefox

The Mozilla Firefox web browser can be configured with the following steps:

  1. Open Settings > Network Settings.
  2. In Proxy Settings, select Manual Proxy Configuration.
  3. In the HTTP Proxy field enter the Kron PAM IP address or URL.
  4. In the Port field, enter the Kron PAM port (Kron PAM’s default HTTP/S port is 7080)
  5. Click the Use this proxy server for all protocols checkbox and click OK.

Other Web Browsers

Instead of Firefox, other web browsers can also be used as HTTP Proxies. The Microsoft Windows proxy settings need to be changed to use other browsers. To configure other web browsers as HTTP Proxy:

  1. Open the Microsoft Windows Settings.
  2. Search for Proxy and, click the Change Proxy Settings result link.
  3. Scroll down to find the Manual proxy setup.
  4. Click the Use a proxy server toggle.
  5. Enter the Kron PAM IP or hostname in the Address field, and 7080 in the Port field
  6. Click Save.
