Log Backup Management and Archiving
Kron PAM has a backup and archiving script, which should be installed in the Kron PAM server.
This feature is optional and runs as a script in the Kron PAMserver. In some cases, the customer may choose to manage this activity in a centrally managed application.
Data on the Kron PAM database is mainly divided into 2 categories: configuration and logging files. The script will handle these tables independently and back them up separately.
If there are disk space restrictions, data can be stored for a limited time frame, such as 3 or 6 months. The script also sweeps old data that exceeds the defined time frame to conserve disk space, allowing the system to store recent data and prevent possible data loss.
The customer must decide on the data storing timeframes:
- the time frame to keep the live data in the Kron PAM database.
- the time frame to keep the backed-up data in storage.
Description | Expected Duration Sample |
Keeping live data in DB | 150 days |
Keeping backed up data in Storage | 365 days |
