Enabling Simultaneous Sessions Warning for RDP Connections
If the terminal server license is inactive on the target Windows device, it restricts the number of concurrent RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) connections.
When a user (user1) is actively connected to an RDP-enabled device and a second user (user2) attempts to initiate a connection, user1 might be automatically disconnected to accommodate user2's connection. Subsequently, user2 will establish the RDP connection to the device.
When a user (user2) establishes a connection, a warning message can be presented, notifying that the activity may result in the logout of the other user.
To enable this warning:
- Navigate to Administration > System Config Man.
- Set the parameter: sc.rdp.connection.warn.simultaneous.sessions = true
- Click Save.
This parameter will enable the default warning, which is "The device you are trying to connect to has an active session. Click Continue to connect, otherwise close this window." by default.
To change the text:
- Log in to the Kron PAM Web GUI.
- Navigate to Administration > System Config Man.
- Set this parameter with the desired text. sc.rdp.connection.warn.simultaneous.sessions.text
- Click Save.
When user2 selects Continue, they will be connected to the device, and user1 will be disconnected.
