Creating a Password Vault Account

Authorized users can create Password Vault accounts.

To add an account:

Before you begin, you must configure a host as a device in the device inventory, as explained in Adding a Device Manually. The configuration should be Linux or Windows according to the connected device type.

  1. Navigate to the Secrets > Vault section.
  2. To open the pop-up screen, click the Add button.
  3. Type in a host IP address, device username, and password, change period, and configuration name.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Enter the IP of the device and select it. Enter the credentials. Add owner.
  6. Click Save.

The Type field indicates whether the password stored in Kron PAM is going to change or remain the same. For instance, if it is labeled as Dynamic, it implies that the stored devices’ passwords are subject to change over time. Static indicates that the password will remain consistent.
