# Pre-Upgrade Steps

- Please find the upgrade script in the file repo under the following path and download it to the server.

`/home/krontech/singleconnect/updates/singleconnect-3.1.0-update.tar `

- Make sure that md5sum is correct before using the file.

*`MD5sum: “e5efb59868d7c470bc10d6659780491f”`*

- Single Connect now supports RHEL 8.5 which means old Single Connect platforms should be upgraded along with the OS.
- Release 3.1.0 is mainly designed to run on RHEL 8.5, however, it -partially- supports old CentOS 7.9 operating systems even though is designed for RHEL 8.5. This also means, 3.1.0 will be the last release that will be supporting CentOS.
- Even though it supports CentOS 7.9, we strongly recommend that existing installations on CentOS be moved to RHEL 8.5 with the assistance of Kron Support Engineers.
- If you are going to install it from scratch, you can get the OS (RHEL 8.5) image from Kron and deploy it to your ESX environment. After that, installation of the application can be done using 3.0.0 Core Installer (3.0.0 Core Installer can run only on RHEL 8.5 image that is provided by Kron) which can be followed by the upgrade of Release 3.1.0. This process also can be done with Kron Engineers.
