The JDBC driver is an alternative method for connecting to a database through Kron DAM. To establish a connection using the JDBC driver: utilize a Java based SQL client that supports custom JDBC drivers (such as DBeaver), since the JDBC driver establishes the connection through the Kron DAM service rather than by connecting directly to the database. In your SQL client, open the driver management section and create a new driver definition, adding the Kron JDBC driver file (.jar) to the driver's libraries.

Then, two parameters must be entered in the Driver Properties section. By pressing the +Add button, add the following parameters:

| Parameters | Description | Value |
| ----------------- | -------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------- |
| Sql-proxy-url | value of the Kron PAM environment's IP or hostname | https\://10.20.42.237:9099/api/sql-proxy |
| Sql-proxy-ssl-key | password of the JDBC Driver ssl certificate | krondev10 |

In the driver properties section, add a new parameter named sql-proxy-url and enter the IP address or hostname of the Kron PAM environment as its value. Create a new connection in your SQL client using this custom driver and enter the remaining connection details (host, port, database/service name, and credentials) as required by the target database type. Establish the connection. Connections made through JDBC driver mode support SSO, MFA, black key, and query logging capabilities.
