Some vault accounts also let you connect directly to the target device, using **Connect to target device**. This screen has two tabs: **Connect to target device** and **Check out Password**.

On the **Connect to target device** tab, choose how to select the device:

- **Connect Existing Device**: connect using a device already associated with this account.
- **Connect Another Device**: connect to a different device by entering its address.

If you select **Connect Another Device**, fill in:

| **Field**                    | **Description**                                                                                                                                                 |
| ---------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **IP Address / Domain Name** | Select the device from the list, or type its IP address or domain name manually. Typing an address always works, even if no device realm is configured for you. |
| **Access Protocol** | The protocol to connect with. |
| **Port Number** | The port to connect on. |

Then click **Connect**.

:::hint{type="info"}
The device list under **IP Address / Domain Name** shows only devices within your device realm. Kron PAM also filters this list by the account's vault strategy: SSH-strategy accounts list only devices that support SSH; WinRM-strategy accounts list devices in RDP protocol scope; Active Directory / LDAP-strategy accounts list only devices that have a domain defined and support SSH or RDP.
