Users may require access both to the root domain specified in the device definition, and to its subdomains. However, certain customers prefer to deny access to subdomains, allowing users to access only the specified main domain. With the parameter **http.proxy.allow\.sub.domain.access**, users can be granted or denied access to all subdomains related to the domain.

- If the **http.proxy.allow\.sub.domain.access** parameter in the **/pam/http/conf/http\_proxy.properties** file is set to true.

- The subdomains of the domain defined in the **Device** **Definition** will be accessible.

- According to the above definition, the [https://login.pega.com](https://login.pega.com) subdomain can be accessed from a browser.

- If the **http.proxy.allow\.sub.domain.access** parameter in the **/pam/http/conf/http\_proxy.properties** file is set to **false**, subdomains cannot be reached (according to the above example, the link https\://login.pega.com cannot be accessed).
