Define the **Element Type** properties shown below, so that Kron PAM can identify the element type of the discovered instances: 

1. Navigate to** Devices**> **Element Types.**
2. Click the **Action** button of the related element type and select **Edit Element Type**.
3. Set the **device.import.database.element.type.pattern** and **device.import.database.access.protocol** parameters.

| **device.import.database.element.type.pattern** | ***Mandatory.***<br />The pattern can be defined as multiple in one element.<br />It is checked against the instance **ELEMENT\_TYPE\_SPECIFIER** description, to determine the element type. |
