To add an account:

:::hint{type="info"}
Before you begin, you must configure a host as a device in the device inventory, as explained in [Adding a Device Manually](docId\:MKTqzV2rEiSOllvK1mF7A). The configuration should be Linux or Windows according to the connected device type.
:::

1. Navigate to the **Secrets **> **Vault **section.
2. To open the pop-up screen, click the Add button.
3. Type in a host IP address, device username, and password, change period, and configuration name.
4. Click **Next**.
5. Enter the IP of the device and select it. Enter the credentials. Add owner.
6. Click **Save.**

The **Type** field indicates whether the password stored in Kron PAM is going to change or remain the same. For instance, if it is labeled as **Dynamic**, it implies that the stored devices’ passwords are subject to change over time. **Static** indicates that the password will remain consistent.
