The Kron Web Password Filler is a browser extension that allows you to securely and quickly fill in login forms on websites using your credentials stored in the Kron PAM (Privilege Access Management) Password Vault.

Your passwords are never stored in the browser. They are retrieved instantly from Kron PAM during form filling and are securely deleted from the browser memory immediately after use. This extension acts solely as an intermediary; Kron PAM remains the single source of truth for authentication, authorization, and audit logs.

### Prerequisites

·         Supported Browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge.

·         The SSL certificate of your Kron PAM server must be added as trusted (It must be in the trusted root certificates of your operating system).

### Installation

To install the extension on your browser, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the extensions page in your browser (For Chrome, type chrome://extensions in the address bar or find "Manage Extensions" in the menu).
2. Enable the **Developer mode** option located in the top right corner of the page.
3. Click the **Load unpacked** button that appears in the top left corner.
4. Select the extension folder containing the installation files. The extension will be loaded into your browser.

### Configuration and Login

After installing the extension, you need to configure the settings to establish a connection with the PAM server:

1. Click on the extension (puzzle) icon in your browser's toolbar and open the **Kron Web Password Filler** extension.
2. Navigate to the **Settings** tab within the extension window.
3. Enter your organization's PAM server address in the **Kron PAM host** field (e.g., poc.krontech.com).

4. You can also configure other settings such as:
   - **Request timeout (seconds):** How long to wait for Kron PAM to respond before giving up.
   - **Automatic sign-out (minutes):** The duration after which the extension signs you out automatically.
   - **Require a PIN to unlock the app:** Enable this to lock the extension popup behind a 4-digit PIN for added security. Your session will keep running in the background while locked.
5. Log in with your Kron PAM username and password. (Depending on your corporate policy, you may also be prompted for an authenticator code).

### Using the Extension

1. Once logged in with your PAM account, the vault accounts you are authorized for and have web access enabled (tagged with a valid WebURL) will be listed in the extension under the **Vault** tab. You can also search for an account by name, username, or URL.

2. Navigate to the login page of the application or website you want to log into (e.g., Grafana Cloud).
3. You will notice the **Kron icon** inside the username or password field on the page. (If you do not have an account defined for that site, the extension will indicate this).

4. Click on the icon. A dropdown list will appear showing the available accounts that match that specific page.
5. Select the account you want to use from the list.
6. The extension will automatically fill in the username and password fields on the site with the selected account's credentials.
7. **IMPORTANT:** For security purposes, the extension never submits the form automatically. You must manually click the "Log in" button on the website to proceed.
