To connect to the target device over the checkout password, the user should click the **Connect to Target Device** button for the vault account under the Vault tab on the Kron PAM Desktop Client.

**Connect to Target Device** button becomes visible once:

- If the Vault account has a device,
- Under Secrets >Configuration >Vault Configuration screen, the configuration name should be found (e.g., Linux), and then find its connection tab, where there is an option called **Connect to Target Device**. This option should be enabled,
- The user’s group should have at least **Device Connection with IP**, **Device Management**, **SAPM Account Module Visibility**, **SAPM Group Module Visibility,** and **SAPM Management** portal privileges. 

If the user has only list permission, the user can only see the **Connect to Target Device** button, but can see neither the **Check out** button nor the **Approval status** text (e.g., no approval).

If all necessary controls are successfully passed after clicking the **Connect to Target Device** button, the following screen is shown to the user:

**Connect Existing Device** option is selected as the default. 

In the case of the user connecting to an existing target device, the user should click the **Connect **button. 

The user might select to make a connection with another device option by clicking the **Connect Another Device** button. In that case, the user should enter the IP Address / Domain Name and Access Protocol type, and optionally select the port number, and lastly click the **Connect **button in order to connect to the target device on the Vault.
