File – Folder – Registry Permission Change

4min

The Endpoint Management (EPM) agent allows us to manage file, folder, and registry key permissions on Windows systems effectively. Through the EPM agent, we can set and modify access rights for specific files, folders, and registry keys, ensuring compliance with security policies and preventing unauthorized access to sensitive system components. This capability is essential for maintaining robust system security, allowing administrators to restrict or grant permissions based on organizational needs. The agent’s functionality integrates seamlessly with Windows, giving administrators fine-grained control over access settings while enhancing overall endpoint protection.

For instance, you can set write permission to host files in the Windows operating system for a user who is not an administrator. Hence you have some control over the users and their rights.

  • Go to the Advance Policy Screen and File Permission tab and click the Add button to do this.
  • Give a name for the policy and choose the target user or user group then Click Next.
Adding a File Permission rule

  • Choose an agent or agent group to which the policy will be applied.
Adding a File Permission rule
