To leverage dynamic data masking, the database must be defined on Kron PAM with credentials to get the schema, table, and column names.

**sql.proxy.masking.enabled** controls whether SQL Proxy runs data masking and the related metadata/JSQL parsing flow. 

·         When set to **true, **masking is enabled but may introduce additional processing overhead under high traffic.

·         When set to **false**, masking is disabled and overall proxy performance can improve.
